This is the second of our monthly off-season bulletins.  It will be posted here on the webpages and emailed to our members who have provided email addresses.  If you would like to be added to that list, email your address to Sherry at smiller@arcaracing.com.

TAX FORMS:  The W-9’s are posted under forms.  IF someone other than the driver is to receive the winnings, this form MUST be filled out and sent to the office. 

CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE BAR/GRILLE!  Everyone is invited to a Christmas Party Friday evening, December 21.  The bar will be holding its annual Customer Appreciation Christmas Party, and we would like to invite all officials, sponsors and race team members to join us.  If you would like to be part of the white elephant gift exchange (begins at 7 p.m.), bring a gift with you ($10 max. value)!  The bar opens at Noon, December 21.  The 50/50 drawing will be conducted by the Driven Women, drawing at 9 p.m.  Our guests of honor are Roy Mott and Gary Lindahl, both recovering from surgery!  Complimentary appetizers—veggie trays, chips, pretzels, meatballs, etc. will be served!  Miller Lite specials and your favorite beverages to celebrate the holidays will be here—will you?

AGE LIMIT FOR DRIVERS:  Beginning with the 2013 season, the minimum age to race at Flat Rock and Toledo will be 14 years old.  ALL drivers younger than 16 will have a set of requirements to meet, which is outlined below:  Personal meeting with ARCA officials; background profile/resume, private on-track test session with observers on hand, restrictive/probationary status for designated period of time.  Please contact the track if you have a driver under the age of 16 that will be competing next season.

X CARS:  The rules are now posted on the web pages under forms and were mailed.  The X Cars will become a featured division on Toledo’s short track in 2013.  Mufflers are also required (this rule was left off the original sheet mailed). 

The Hoosier 880 tire rules and the Figure 8 rule amendment are also posted under forms on the web pages and were also mailed last week.  The new Figure 8 Travel Trailer race, Flag pole race and boat race information is also posted in the same location on the pages.

ENGINE SEAL DAY:  *We have scheduled a SEAL DAY for Thursday, April 18 at Toledo.  Crate engines will be sealed after using the CAM DOCTOR and performance engines will also be sealed.  The times will be announced.  Make your plans NOW for this date.  More details soon.  We anticipate doing this program beginning in the late afternoon to early evening.  This is not mandatory, it is an option. 

MEMBERSHIP FORMS:  May now be downloaded from the ARCA website!  You will need to download it, fill it out and mail it back in with payment.  This is the first time the forms have been available on-line.

SCHEDULES:  The 2013 schedules should be posted December 27.  Here’s some dates for you to mark on your calendars: 

Flat Rock will have open practice Saturday, April 20 and Wednesday, April 24..  The first race is Saturday, April 27.  In honor of Flat Rock’s 60^th Anniversary season, a Triple 60’s show with Fireworks is being planned!  The MSA Super Modifieds will return to Flat Rock Saturday, May 25.

The Toledo season opens Saturday, April 20 with a 150 lap race for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models/ARCA Midwest Late Models (template bodies).  The ARCA Trucks will also be in action.  Practice is Friday, race is Saturday, rain date is Sunday, April 21.  This is the very first combined show for these 2 groups. 

Toledo will have an open practice Sunday, April 28.  The first weekly show is Friday, May 3, and the Fastest Short Track Show in the World is June 14.  The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards 200 is Saturday/Sunday May 18-19.  The Silver Anniversary of the Glass City 200 is Saturday, September 28. 

2013 PROJECTS:  At Toledo, we have finished grading and seeding behind the new stands, while work continues on re-grading the infield.  We have applied a patch of sealer to the short track at Toledo to reduce the amount of pebbles coming up off the track surface—the first test was promising.  We will get a race in on this and then move from there.  Flat Rock’s plan is to replace the catch fence and uprights in the turn 3-4 area, in front of the spectator hill. 

MORAN CHEVROLET RETURNS IN 2013!  As announced at the banquet, Moran Chevrolet will return as the sponsor of Flat Rock’s Late Model division for the 6^th consecutive year!  We would like to extend our thanks to Pat Moran and his staff for their continued support!

RACER’S REUNION/MARFC MEETING:  The annual Racer’s Reunion and Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Meeting is set for Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Bar/Grille.  We will also be doing our giveaways of pad rentals, track rentals, etc. at the MARFC meeting.  More details later!
