JOY FAIR DECALS TO BE AVAILABLE AT FLAT ROCK; PROCEEDS TO DIABETES ASSOCIATION

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 20, 2012) - As a tribute to the memory of Joy Fair, a special memorial decal will be available at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday for the Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway.  Fair’s long-time friend, Rand Thompson, is conducting the sale of the decals.  To date, $1000 has been donated to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Joy.

The decals are $4 each or 3 for $10, with all proceeds from the sale of the decals to go to the American Diabetes Association.  Please make checks payable to the American Diabetes Association.  Checks may also be sent to:  Rand Thompson, 10537 Loughrea Lane, Cement City, MI  49233.  Please add $1 per order for shipping/mailing costs.

2 more entries have been received for the ARCA Allegiant Late Model Gold Cup Series 100 lap contest, moving the pre-entry list to 27 cars as of Wednesday morning.  The entries of former track Figure 8 champion Ricky Kargel and veteran Dan Trosen Jr. were in the mail today.

In addition to the Moran Chevrolet Late Models/Gold Cup race, the track’s Parts Galore Figure 8 and DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock divisions will also be in action June 23.  The pit area will open at 1:30, practice begins at 3, time trials are at 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m.  All seating will be general admission and will go on sale race day at 3 p.m.  There is no advance sale for the event.

The race will be taped by the Buckeye Cable Sports System (BCSN) out of Toledo, OH and will be shown on the “Sunday Night at the Races” program at 9 p.m. on the Toledo-area local cable access station.  The race is also available online at www.bcsn.tv.
