Drivers, Fans Gear For Toledo’s All American Coach “Fastest Short Track Show In World”
(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 12, 2012) - It’s time! Fans, drivers, crews and track management are anticipating Friday night’s All American Coach “Fastest Short Track Show in the World,” starring the Town Money Saver MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS).
The race is one of the top short-track events in the nation and has gained national prominence since its conception by Toledo track management. The shear speed and power of these winged, ground-pounding race cars is a race fans true delight!
Defending race winners for the All American Coach Fastest Short Track Show in the World are veteran Bobby Dawson in the MSA Super Modifieds and hometown favorite Jimmy McCune for the AVBBSS Sprints.
The current entry lists follow this story. Dawson leads the parade of the MSA cars, but will face stiff competition from former NASCAR Truck and Nationwide champion Johnny Benson and Canadians Mike Lichty, Dave McKnight and Mark Sammut. 2011 Fastest Show top qualifier Charlie Schultz is also entered, along with second-generation star DJ Shullick and the remaining MSA tour regulars.
While Schultz stunned everyone last season with an incredible record lap of 12:389 for the AVBBSS Sprint car portion of the show, Charlie and car owner Dick Myers have not filed an entry for the sprint car portion as of Tuesday. Defending race winner and hometown favorite Jimmy McCune has also not entered the event as of press time.
The speedway is conducting a pre-race ticket sale for the June 15 contest. Race fans can save $5 per ticket by purchasing their tickets prior to race day. Major credit cards are accepted for phone orders and on race day. To obtain advance tickets, please call the track office at 419-727-1100.
The pit area will open at 1, practice begins at 3 and the front gates will also open at 3.
