Interactive Displays Opening to Fan Fest Guests

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 18, 2012) - ARCA Fan Fest will be back this weekend at Toledo Speedway, giving race fans of all ages the chance to enjoy numerous fun activities and interactive displays surrounding Saturday's Grogan's Towne 50 and Sunday's Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care.

Positioned in the parking lot outside the track and just steps away from the weekend's exciting racing action, the annual ARCA Fan Fest is designed to be family- and fan-friendly, allowing ARCA fans to interact with drivers, teams, and sponsors at ARCA's home track.

Public admission to ARCA Fan Fest is free. ARCA Fan Fest will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, and will open at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Fans will be required to purchase race tickets to enter the speedway for each day's racing action.

Sponsors and groups participating with displays include Grogan's Towne Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 7Up, VR-12, CGS Imaging, S&S Volvo, the Komen Foundation, Metroparks of the Toledo Area, Michigan International Speedway, the Toledo Blade, Menards, Yard Sport, Race Against Drugs, and Marco's Pizza.

Among the displays will be one devoted to ensuring health and safety for race fans and competitors, which is a key element of the ARCA Safety Initiative. ProMedica, the mission-based, not-for-profit Toledo healthcare organization formed in 1986, will give fans the opportunity to learn more about heart health, thanks to a committed team of volunteers from the ProMedica Toledo Hospital Emergency Center. In addition to providing educational information and giveaways, the group will also offer free blood pressure screenings.

On-track action will begin Saturday morning, as the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards and ARCA Truck Series will each take the track for two practices between 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. The trucks will hold qualifying at 2:15 p.m., with Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell setting Sunday's ARCA Racing Series starting field at 3:30. The Grogan's Towne 50, the season opener for the ARCA Truck Series, will start at 5 p.m.

Sunday at noon, fans are welcome to an on-track autograph session featuring every driver in the ARCA Racing Series' starting field. Pre-race ceremonies and the recognition of past drivers and champions as part of ARCA's 60th Anniversary Season will begin at 1:15 p.m., with the Menards 200 starting at 2 p.m.

SPEED will air its national broadcast of the Menards 200 at 5 p.m., one of 10 live and/or same-day delayed broadcasts of ARCA Racing Series action this season.

Toledo Speedway's two new grandstand towers will both be open to the public for the first time since assembly in the offseason. Combined, the two towers will seat 3600 guests.

Tickets still remain for the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway, and are on sale at the track office or at any of the three Toledo-area Menards stores or stores in Defiance, Findlay, and Sandusky.

Toledo Speedway is located at 5639 Benore Road in northeast Toledo, just off I-75 and Alexis Road.  More information is available by calling (419) 727-1100, or by visiting ARCARacing.com.
