(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - August 17, 2011) - Flat Rock Speedway race fans will have a chance to win tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway (MIS), courtesy of a NASCAR driver David Ragan.  Ragan will personally give away six tickets during his appearance at “The Rock” this Saturday, August 20.

The driver of the #6 Roush-Fenway Racing Ford, who grew up around the race tracks, will also sign autographs at Flat Rock Speedway this Saturday night.  David will personally award six tickets to Sunday’s NASCAR race at MIS during his appearance at the track.  Ragan will use his twitter account at www.twitter.com/David_Ragan and his official facebook page for the ticket giveaway

Ragan’s father, Ken, was a competitor in both ARCA and NASCAR in the 1980’s and 90’s.  The Unadilla, GA native began his career in Legends Cars and also was a full-time racer on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards tour before his move to NASCAR. 

David won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway in July and sat on the pole for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway a few weeks ago.  Ragan was involved in a nasty accident at Watkins Glen in Monday’s NASCAR race, but is ready to make the trip to MIS and Flat Rock this weekend. 

The Saturday, August 20 race card at Flat Rock will also feature the return of the MSA winged Super Modifieds for the first time in 30 years to the ¼ mile paved oval.  The low-slung, lightning-fast machines will challenge the absolute track record of 10:239.  The track’s Parts Galore Figure 8’s and DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock classes will also be in action, with race time at 7 p.m.

All tickets will go on sale race day at 3:30 p.m. at the track ticket office.  There is no advance ticket sale.
