DeLISLE DENTS TOLEDO WIN COLUMN; HUSTON, LOVING ALSO NOTCH WINS

(TOLEDO, Ohio - July 29, 2011) - Second-generation driver and Canadian Kyle DeLisle powered his way to victory in the ARCA ACME Dismantling 50 lap Sportsman feature Friday night at Toledo Speedway.  Eric Huston was the winner in the ARCA R & M Recycling Street Stock 35 lap main, while Robbie Loving scored the win in the 20 lap ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8 feature race, all part of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Summer Racing Series.

The Sun Drop Soda/Teamsters Local 20 Kid’s Night brought out a good crowd and a huge throng of youngsters, who were treated to free admission to the track, a free Valvoline T-Shirt and a free hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Seyfert’s Snacks and the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group.

DeLisle, whose father, Dan, is a former champ at Toledo, took charge and sailed away out front by a good distance from the rest of the 18 car pack for much of the contest.  A yellow flag on lap 39 bunched the field, but Kyle stood on the throttle on the re-start to score his first win of the year in the 50 lap contest and second in his career at Toledo.  Current point leader Ron Allen took second, Dave Arnold Jr. was third, Howard Kelley Jr. fourth and Mike Young fifth, followed by Tom O’Leary IV, Norm Lewallen, Greg Stilwell, Chad Stilwell and Jeff King.  Kelley Jr., Scott Bross and David Frantz took the heat wins.  Allen set fast time at 17:371.  Early challenger Jim Froling got caught up in an incident in the feature race that ended his night.

7-29_tol_ss_26.jpg2-time track champ Eric Huston withstood the pressure from Rich Frantz to grab the victory in the 35 lap R & M Recycling Street Stock feature race, his 3rd win at the track in 2011.  Cory McCaughey came home third, Dennis Whisman was fourth and Mike Hammer fifth.  Jeremy Vanderhoof (in David Kind’s #37) came from the back twice to finish sixth, with Kyle Huston, John Rabideau, Matt Ringger and Luke Davis next in line to complete the top ten.  Rookie Kyle Huston (Eric’s son) and Ringger took the heat race wins.  Vanderhoof was the fast qualifier at 11:761.

7-29_tol_f8_16.jpgAnother former track champ visited the Sun Drop Winner’s Circle as Robbie Loving stayed in command the entire distance to win the very entertaining 20 lap Parts Galore Figure 8 feature.  At the drop of the green, Loving and Greg Studt battled up front for the lead until Loving pulled out to take the lead solidly on lap 4.  The rest of the race was filled with intersection action and near-misses as Loving motored on to his win, his 2nd of the year.  Studt held on for second, Dennis Whisman was third, Dan Apperson fourth and Jeremy Vanderhoof fifth, followed by Randy Roberts, Anthony Terris, Nick Bradley, Stephanie Bradley and Archie Padgett.  Studt and Loving grabbed the heat race wins.
