Moran Chevrolet Adds To Bonus Awards For Stan Yee Memorial

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - July 19, 2011) - Moran Chevrolet, the title sponsor of the Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock Speedway, has now added a bonus award for the race.  Every driver that competes in the July 30 event will be eligible to win a set of four (4) Hoosier Racing Tires, courtesy of Pat Moran of Moran Chevrolet.  Drivers must have a paid pre-entry to be eligible for the award.

Just prior to driver introductions, each driver, whether they make the 24 car field or not, will be staged on the front-stretch of the ¼ mile paved oval.  The drivers will make their way up into the crowd and each one will select a race fan to draw out an envelope for them.  As each envelope is opened, a driver will be eliminated from the drawing.  The car number of the driver in the final envelope left in the hopper will win the 4 tires, courtesy of Moran Chevrolet.  The running of the 4th Annual Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 presented by CGS Imaging, is set for Saturday, July 30 at Flat Rock Speedway.  The 150 lap contest for the ARCA Allegiant Glass City Gold Cup Late Models is leg number 3 of the 5 race series between Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways.

Stan Yee was a fixture in Midwest Late Model racing from the 1960s forward. Both on dirt and the asphalt, Stan’s famed No. 33 cars won countless races. Drivers such as Marv Parenteau, Joe Ruttman, Artie Sommers, Joy Fair, the late John Anderson, Rick Sheppard, Danny Byrd, Harold Cook, Chuck Roumell, Steve Lee, and Stan’s son, Stan Jr., piloted Yee’s Collision machines.  Parenteau, Byrd, Roumell and Lee will all be in attendance at the event to greet the drivers and race fans.

The 2011 event marks the fourth year for the Memorial race at Flat Rock. Justin Schroeder scored his first-ever Flat Rock and Late Model win in 2008, first-time Flat Rock visitor Mike Luberda Jr. captured the title in 2009, and Mike Root was victorious in the 2010 version of the race, also his first win at “The Rock”.

The pit area will open at 1:30 p.m. on July 30, with practice for the Late Models set to begin at 3.  Time trials begin at 5 and racing starts at 7 p.m.  Log on to www.flatrockspeedway.com for the entry form and additional information.
