Placers Car Club Returns for 3rd Season of Thursday Night Car Cruises at Toledo Speedway

(TOLEDO, Ohio - April 1, 2011) - The Placers Car Club will return to Toledo Speedway for the third consecutive season for their Thursday classic car "cruise-ins", with the first show set for Thursday, May 5.
The club has decided to hold the 2011 shows on the first and third Thursdays of each month through early October. In the past, the events were held every Thursday evening at the Glass City oval.
Live entertainment will be featured on the first Thursday of each month. Bob Wurst will kick off the 2011 opener May 5 with his show. The local DJ duo of Jim and Bob will provide the music on the third Thursday events.
The cruise-ins will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. inside the Toledo Speedway gates, with the cars parked on the track's ¼ mile paved oval. Admission is free, with permanent restrooms and the concession stand in operation at each event.
The Speedway Bar and Grille, located adjacent to the track, will also be open before, during and after the cruises.
The May 5 show will be a precursor to the track's weekly Friday night PNC Bank/7-Up season opener on May 6, featuring the ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman, Parts Galore Figure 8's, R & M Recycling Street Stocks and the Jeff's Collision 4 Cylinders.
The May 6 show is also part of the 10-race Valvoline Instant Oil Change Summer Racing Series.
