Toledo Speedway Hosting First Race in New CRA/JEGS All-Star Tour Crate Late Model Division

(TOLEDO, Ohio - January 17, 2011) - The high banks of the half-mile Toledo Speedway will play host to the first-ever event in the Championship Racing Association (CRA)/JEGS All-Star Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts. The new crate late model series currently has 11 100-lap events scheduled, with the first to be held at Toledo Speedway on Saturday, April 23.

CRA has sanctioned events at Toledo Speedway for several years. The facility has had numerous improvements made to it the past several years and is the perfect venue for the new crate motor series to begin.

The Glass City paved oval is home to ARCA-sanctioned weekly racing events, as well as several major races each year for both open-wheel and stock car events. The initial CRA crate late model race will join the list of important events that Toledo Speedway has hosted over the years.

"We are very happy to have Toledo Speedway as the site of the inaugural Jeg's/CRA All-Star Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts event," said series director Glenn Luckett. "Toledo is one of the finest short tracks in the country and it is the perfect place for this series to begin its initial season. We are expecting a great turnout of cars for this event. It will be an exciting day of racing!"

The USA Modifieds will also be a part of the Saturday, April 23 race card at Toledo Speedway. Race-day sponsorship for the event is in negotiations as of press time.

Following its weekend at Toledo Speedway, the CRA/JEGS All-Star Tour will then stay in the Buckeye State for a Memorial Day Weekend event on Saturday, May 28th at Columbus Motor Speedway. It will be a big CRA weekend at Columbus with the CRA Super Series also there on Monday, May 30th.

The series will then head to the birth place of CRA, Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana, on Saturday, June 4th. The first ever CRA event was held there on Saturday, April 26, 1997. The famed high-banked quarter mile will also host the CRA Super Series twice in 2011, also events for the CRA Late Model Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks.

The series will then head to Michigan for the first ever CRA event at Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan on Friday, June 17. (The CRA Super Series will race there on August 19th.) The series will then head to Illinois to Rockford Speedway on Saturday, July 30th. The famed Deery owned quarter mile has hosted high profile late model events for many seasons.

On Saturday, August 20th the series will have its first of two events on the famed high banks of Winchester Speedway. From there the series will head back to Michigan for the first ever CRA event at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan on Saturday, September 3rd. The series will stay in Michigan for the next event on Saturday, September 10th at the famed Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, home of the huge Rowdy 251 event sanctioned by the CRA Super Series.

On Sunday, October 2nd the series will be part of a huge CRA weekend at the newly named Lucas Oil Raceway, formally known as ORP and IRP located in Clermont, Indiana. That weekend could see all the CRA divisions in action at one of the nicest short tracks in the country.

The 2011 Season Championship event will be part of the prestigious Winchester 400 weekend at Winchester Speedway. The season finally will be part of the 400 preliminary events on Saturday, October 15th. Last season's Winchester 400 Weekend was a huge event that featured great competitor and fan counts that filled the facility to capacity all weekend long.
