ARCA Winner Clauson Among Entrants in USAC Silver Crown Rollie Beale 150 at Toledo Speedway

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 12, 2010) - Bryan Clauson, who won an ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards race at Gateway International Raceway in 2007, is one of four drivers with a mathematical chance to win the USAC Silver Crown driving championship in Saturday afternoon's Rollie Beale 150 at Toledo Speedway. The promising championship race features a separation of just one point between the series' top two drivers.

Clauson sits in fourth place in the standings, 49 points behind the lead of Bud Kaeding. Kaeding leads Levi Jones by just a single point, with Kody Swanson 27 back in third place. A total of 66 points are available at Toledo, where 150 laps are on tap to honor Beale, the 1973 USAC Sprint Cup champion and later, Chief Steward. Beale posted 32 wins in USAC competition.

Jones, of Olney, Ill., caught leader Dave Darland on Lap 95 and led the final six laps of last Saturday's 100-lap USAC Silver Crown Sumar Classic at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track. Jones was followed at the checkered flag by Clauson, who is his Tony Stewart Racing teammate, and Shane Cottle, Terry Babb, and Swanson. Jones drove the Bass Pro Shops/Armor All Beast/Kistler Chevy to the win, his second of the season.

Darland flipped on Lap 99 trying to regain the lead from Jones and officially finished ninth. Pole starter Jon Stanbrough failed to finish. Kaeding led 17 laps but finished 15th.

Shane Hmiel suffered critical injuries in a single-car qualifying accident and was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of neck and back fractures.

Saturday's activity at Toledo Speedway begins with practice at 12:30 p.m. A USAC Regional Midget special event is also planned as part of the day's schedule.

The top 10 in the USAC Silver Crown Championship Series are as follows: 1. Kaeding 364; 2. Jones 363; 3. Swanson 337; 4. Clauson 315; 5. Hmiel 299; 6. A.J. Fike 288; 7. Jerry Coons Jr. 288; 8. Brian Tyler 282; 9. Bobby East 259; 10. Tracy Hines 235.
