FLAT ROCK, MI (8-8-09) - For the first time in 16 weeks, Flat Rock Speedway was forced to cancel its Saturday racing card.  A day-long rain throughout the entire state of Michigan made the call an easy one for track officials.  The Lakeshore Utility Trailer Sales 100 for the ARCA Street Stocks, their biggest race of 2009, fell victim to the elements.  That race will now take place Saturday, August 22.

Up next on the schedule is Leppen Chiropractic Autograph Night and a visit by NASCAR driver David Ragan.  Ragan will make his way to "The Rock" Saturday, August 15 after his duties at Michigan International Speedway.  He is expected to arrive sometime after 7 p.m. and will sign autographs for race fans upon his arrival. 

Prior to Ragan's appearance, fans can walk onto the track and meet Flat Rock's ARCA Moran Chevrolet/Miller Lite Late Model, Figure 8 and Street Stock drivers.  The pit area will open at 2, practice begins at 3 and time trials are set for 4:30. The on-track autograph session will begin at 6:15 and racing will get the green flag at 7 p.m. 

The ticket office and front gate will also open at 3 p.m.  ALL tickets are general admission and will go on sale race day at 3 p.m.

A variety of activities are on the slate for August 15, including the annual United Way of Monroe County Night.  The group will hold their annual raffle drawing at the track Saturday night.  Flat Rock will also host the Racer's Reunion, with former drivers to be introduced to the crowd during the evening.  And a large group of attendees are expected for the Monroe County Firefighters Night, with members from the fire departments of the Monroe County to be on hand as guests of the speedway.
