TOLEDO, OH: (8-3-09): Former Glass City 200 winner Tim Ice leads the field of entries for the Friday evening, August 7 show at Toledo Speedway, which will play host to its final open-wheel racing show of the 2009 season. The MSA Super Modifieds and the Buckeye 305 Winged Sprint Cars will be featured in the open-wheel double header. The Western Lake Erie Insulation Industry will sponsor the night of racing at the Glass City oval. The track's weekly ARCA Speedway Tire and Auto Factory Stocks will also be in action.

Ice, a veteran of Late Model racing, won the famed Glass City event in the year 2000.  Ice has 10 feature wins to his credit at Toledo and was the 1990 and 1991 Late Model track champion.  Current MSA point leader Tim Jedrzejek is also entered, along with Charlie Schultz and Gene Lee Gibson, who won last week's MSA contest at Lorain County Speedway.

The 305 Sprinters are making their second appearance of the year on the big ½ mile paved track.  Zach Gibson sailed to victory in the May 15 contest at Toledo and leads the list of entries for Friday night's event.  Several of MSA's drivers competed at Toledo for the ISMA race in June and will be back Friday night. 

The open-wheel machines boast lightning-fast speeds and use every inch of the asphalt surface!  The MSA cars should see lap time in the 13 second bracket, while the Buckeye 305 Sprinters usually run in the mid-14 second range, which averages out somewhere over 130 miles per hour or more!

The pit area opens at 3, practice begins at 4:30, time trials are set for 6 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.  The front gates will open at 4:30.  Seating is on a general admission basis and tickets go on sale race day at 4:30 p.m.
