Toledo Speedway

TOLEDO, OH: (7-28-09): NASCAR's Kyle Busch went right from the Brickyard on Sunday back to the short tracks Monday night and sailed to victory at the Anderson, IN ¼ mile oval in the 300 lap CRA Super Series Late Model race. Busch will be in competition at Toledo Speedway Friday evening, August 14 for the Allen Chevrolet/Cadillac CRA 100 lap contest at the ½ mile Glass City oval.

Busch had a tough day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sunday, losing a tire and hitting the wall, ending his day very early.  He and his Joe Gibbs Racing team continue to battle for a spot in the top 12 to make NASCAR'S "Chase" for the championship.

The Las Vegas, Nevada driver continues to lead the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings heading into the month of August.  Kyle is constantly running back and forth across the country when the 2 series are not at the same tracks.  Throw in his short track races and Busch is among the busiest race car drivers in the nation week in and week out.

With both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series in the area for their events at Michigan International Speedway (MIS), the Toledo event fits right into Busch's racing schedule for the weekend.  The CRA Super Series will make their annual stop at Toledo Friday night, August 14 for the 100 lap feature event.  Busch will make his way to the track after his duties at MIS Friday afternoon.

The track's ARCA Sportsman, Factory Stocks and 4 Cylinder classes will also be on the August 14 race card.  The Sportsman and 4 Cylinders will run features only on this date.  The track will also host a Racer's Reunion for former racers at Toledo as part of the 50^th Anniversary celebration of the speedway.

The pit area will open at 1:30 for the CRA teams and 3:30 for the Toledo classes.  CRA practice is slated from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by Toledo practice.  Time trials are set for 6 p.m. and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
