Toledo Speedway 50th Anniversary: A Look Back at 1970

1970-ANDERSON SCORES AGAIN AT TOLEDO

Young John Anderson continued his breakout season in the ARCA Late Model division by taking the 50-lap feature at Toledo Speedway over some of the best in the business.

Anderson waged a race-long battle with Ed Howe and Joy Fair, just edging the duo at the stripe. Fran Harden and Bob Senneker rounded out the top-5 finishers, with Moose Myers, Ray Barnard and Terry Senneker following, all on the lead lap. Fair led the 33-car field with a qualifying lap of 17.98 seconds but it was Howe taking the 4-car dash. Jerry Makara claimed a heat and the pursuit while Bud Pingston and Gene Okopski were heat race winners.
