Kids Free for Racing and Fireworks at Flat Rock July 11

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-30-09): Flat Rock Speedway officials have just announced that children up to age 14 will be admitted FREE for the Saturday, July 11 Triple 50's and Fireworks show. The ARCA Moran Chevrolet/Miller Lite Late Models, ARCA Figure 8's and ARCA Street Stocks will each stage 50 lap main events, with the Street Stock B Main race going 25 circuits. The night will conclude with the 29th annual Volcano Fireworks display. Miller Lite, through O & W, Inc., will sponsor the event July 11.  The popular night is a tradition at "The Rock", with plenty of exciting, fender to fender racing for all 3 classes of race cars.

"Since 1981, we have held our annual Fireworks show the week after the holiday," noted Ron Drager, promoter of the ¼ mile paved oval.  "The Triple 50's format was added about 15 years ago to the night, adding more action to an already great evening of family fun."

The famous Flat Rock Speedway Fireworks will highlight the night of activity July 11.  Full fields for all 3 divisions should be on hand for the event.  And with the announcement of the FREE kids admission, a very large crowd is expected.

ALL tickets are general admission and will go on sale at 4 p.m. the day of the event.  Adults $16 each and, again, children up to age 14 will be admitted FREE!

The track offers three types of seating; the spectator hill area in turns 3 and 4, where fans can bring their lawn chairs and blankets; or grandstand seating, with both chair-back and bench style seating available.

The box office opens at 4 p.m., time trials are set for 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m.  Parking is free on the grounds of the speedway.  No coolers, cans or bottles are permitted through the grandstand gates.

For information call the track office at 734-782-2480.  Flat Rock Speedway is located on Telegraph Road, 1 mile south of Flat Rock and just 5 minutes from I-75 or I-275.
