Stehouwer, Sensiba Ready for Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150; Entry List at 41 as of Friday

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-26-09): Two additional entries from the west side of the state of Michigan have arrived for Saturday's 2nd Annual Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 to be held at Flat Rock Speedway. Dave Stehouwer and Dave Sensiba are both entered, and with the addition of local Chris Benson and AuGres, MI driver Mike Luberda, the list now stands at 41 cars as of Friday morning.

Stehouwer, a veteran of Late Model racing, has competed at Spartan and Berlin for much of his career.  Dave captured the 1995 and 2007 Late Model titles at Spartan.  Sensiba is a second-generation driver who has raced across the Midwest throughout his career and notching wins at several tracks.  Dave's father, Bob, was the 1976 Late Model champion at Toledo Speedway.

Newport, MI driver Chris Benson, a regular competitor at Flat Rock for many years, is now entered, along with northern Michigan driver Mike Luberda.  Mike has never raced at Flat Rock, but attended a race at "The Rock" when his father, Mike Sr., competed in the old Carling's Michigan Speedway Promoter's Association (MSPA) Wednesday night races in the mid-1970's.

The 150 lap all-green flag race will pay $2533 to win and $533 to start, with the 33 in honor of Stan Yee Sr.'s #33 cars.  Stan, a car builder and owner for over 40 years, passed away in 2008.  Diamond Racing Products has posted a $333 bonus for fast time, while an additional $333 will go to the leader of lap 33.  A total purse of over $25,000 has been posted for the event.

One of Yee's former drivers, Joe Ruttman, will compete as a teammate to Stan Yee Jr. this Saturday night.   The track's Figure 8 and Street Stock divisions will also be in competition.

All tickets for the event are general admission and are available beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27.  The pit area opens at 1, practice begins at 3, time trials are set for 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m.  Go to http://www.flatrockspeedway.com/ for the updated entry list.
