A total of 24 ISMA fire-breathing Super Modifieds have filed entries, with 23 AVSS ground-pounders inked to make the trip to the Glass City oval for one of the top open-wheel pavement shows in the nation.  Phone calls by both groups have been fielded in the past few days, which may push the entry lists to a higher number.

Toledo track record holder Chris Perley leads the ISMA charge, with former NASCAR Nationwide and Truck Series champion Johnny Benson also entered.  AVSS defending champion Jason Blonde heads the entry list for the Winged Sprinters.  Drivers from 10 states and Canada will be on hand for the event.  NASCAR champ Tony Stewart has been a spectator at the race for the past several years.

All American Coach and Qualite Sports Lighting have teamed up to sponsor the event, which draws fans on their way to Michigan International Speedway for the NASCAR weekend.  Track officials are prepping the track as Friday nears.  The 2008 edition of the contest was a victim of the weather, and could not be rescheduled due to schedule conflicts.  "Interest for the race has always been very high," noted Scott Schultz, General Manager of the track.  "We are looking forward to Friday night."

Reserved seating can be obtained by calling Toledo Speedway at 419-727-1100.  The reserved section features 300 seats with backrests and plenty of leg room.  Every other row of seats was removed to implement the backrests on the benches.  The section is located in the center of the main grandstand, directly on the start-finish line.  VISA and Mastercard are accepted for phone orders.

The fastest race machines on the planet will hit the high banks of Toledo's ½ mile paved oval for the Fastest Short Track Show in the World Friday, June 12.  Both the ISMA Super Mods and the AVSS Winged Sprints will qualify for bragging rights of which car is the fastest!  With the fastest lap times hovering in the low 13 second bracket and below, the speeds are incredible and have made time trials an event in itself.  Cameron Dodson owns the ultimate track record at 12:902 in an AVSS machine.  ISMA's Chris Perley holds their lap record at Toledo at 13:116.

The June 12 schedule will see the pits opening at 1 p.m., practice begins at 3, with the front gates opening at that time.  The much-anticipated time trial session begins at 5, with the race card starting at 7:30 p.m.
