DTCVB Night at Toledo Speedway Friday, June 26
"We are very pleased to have the DTCVB as part of our 2009 race schedule," noted Scott Schultz, General Manager of the track. "Toledo Speedway appreciates the effort that this group puts forward to promote not only the track, but many events in this region on a continual basis."
The Bureau will be contacting its membership to invite them to the track for the June 26 race card, which will see David Nolan take part in an actual race at Toledo Speedway. New to the Toledo area, Nolan jumped at the opportunity to become involved as a race car driver. "Mr. Nolan will compete in our 4 Cylinder division for the evening," said Schultz. "He will have the opportunity to practice, qualify, run a heat race and the feature event. David is being a great sport and did not hesitate with his answer when we asked him to race."
The program for the evening has the ARCA Sportsman tackling the big, fast ½ mile paved oval for a 50 lap feature event. On the short track, the 4 Cylinders, Factory Stocks and Figure 8's will compete for top honors and the checkered flag! The track will also host Racing Fan Club Night for the June 26 contest.
7-Up, through the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group of Toledo, will join the DTCVB as sponsors for the June 26 contest. The front gates will open at 5 p.m., practice begins at that time, time trials are set for 6:15 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $12 for adults, children 6-14 are $3 and under 6 are free. Parking is free of charge. No outside beverages or coolers are permitted.
