Rain Wins Again at Toledo Speedway

TOLEDO, OH (5-1-09)--  A beautiful morning turned into clouds and rain as Mother Nature put the damper on Toledo Speedway's Friday night opener.  The pit area had opened when the rains hit the track around 4:30 p.m.  After 40 minutes of rain, the decision was made to call it a night.
The initial Friday night race card has sponsorship from the Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN) and Tim Hortons.  Fans can pick up a $5 off admission coupon at participating Tim Hortons locations.  All coupons and tickets dated May 1 will be honored Friday, May 8.
 
The Toledo Blade will join BCSN and Tim Hortons to sponsor the May 8 race event.  With the rain, the Friday, May 8 race card will be filled with activities. 
 
Armed Forces Appreciation Night has been rescheduled to next Friday, with all military personnel admitted FREE with military ID.  The ID card should be presented at the ticket window.
 
And the May 8 show will honor all mothers with its Mother's Day Special.  All Moms will be admitted FREE when accompanied with a child.  The first 500 Moms will also receive a free carnation.  A special drawing for prizes for Moms will also take place. 
 
And it's also All Faiths Night May 8 at Toledo Speedway.  Fans can bring their Church bulletin, present it at the ticket window and get in for just $5.
 
And the track's new Miller Lite Summer Racing Series gets into gear, which features 10 of the Friday night shows on the 2009 race calendar.  The speedway will feature an incentive for race fans for each of the 10 Friday nights. For the May 8 contest, the first 200 fans through the front gate will receive a FREE hot dog, compliments of the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille.
 
 For every Friday night race, the track's Speedway Saloon will feature Happy Hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  All Miller draft beer is just $2.
 
The remaining Miller Lite Summer Racing Series dates are:   May 29, June 5, June 26, July 10, July 31, August 14, 21 and 28.
 
The ARCA Sportsman cars will tackle the big 1/2 mile paved oval Friday night, with the ARCA Speedway Auto Parts Factory Stocks and 4 Cylinder cars also in action.
 
Admission is just $10 per adult, children 6-14 are $3 and under 6 are free.  Parking on the grounds is also FREE.  All concession items are priced between $1 and $3.  Beer is $4.
 
The front gates will open at 5 p.m., time trials are at 6:15 and racing starts at 7:30 p.m sharp.
 
Toledo Speedway is also hosting the Placers Car Club Classic Car Cruisin', sponsored by Miller Lite, every Thursday beginning May 7, in the track parking lot.  The show hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Music will be playing each night, with a live band scheduled for the second Thursday of each month.  Admission is free.
