The Hantz Group Joins Allegiant Air to Sponsor Late Model Gold Cup Series

TOLEDO, OH: (4-2-09): A name quite familiar to Toledo Speedway fans will provide title sponsorship for the ARCA Glass City Gold Cup Late Model Series in 2009. The Hantz Group, a financial services company, will join with Allegiant Air to present the 5-race Gold Cup Series this season. The schedule features 2 races at Flat Rock Speedway and 3 events at Toledo for the upcoming season.

The Hantz Group has served as the title sponsor of the ARCA RE/MAX Series races at Toledo for the past several years.  Looking to concentrate on the Southeast Michigan/Northern Ohio market, the firm has agreed to back the Gold Cup Series for ARCA's Super Late Model division in 2009.  They will join Allegiant Air, which is entering into its third season of support of the group, for the Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series.

A point fund has been posted for the 5-race series, with the champion taking home $1000, which will be presented at the track's annual awards banquet in November.  The top five will receive cash bonuses, with $600, $400, $300 and $200 posted for the second through fifth place finishers in the final point standings for the series.  The top 3 will also receive two (2) round-trip tickets from Toledo to Florida, courtesy of Allegiant Air.

Race number 1 of the series takes place at Toledo Friday evening, May 22 for the Big Red Crème Soda 100 lap contest.  Race number 2 is also at Toledo, set for Friday, June 19 for a 75 lap contest, sponsored by Speedway Tire and Auto.  Action moves to Flat Rock for the running of the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 the following week, Saturday, June 27.  Teamsters Local 20 and Marco's Pizza will sponsor the Friday, July 17 contest, another 75 lap event at Toledo.  The fifth and final event of the Series is set for Saturday, July 25 at Flat Rock for the running of the All Sport 100.

ARCA Late Model rules will prevail, using the Late Model Alliance body measurement package.  All drivers are required to be ARCA members.  The entry blank, complete with payoffs, will be released soon, and will be available to be downloaded from the websites at http://www.toledospeedway.com/ or http://www.flatrockspeedway.com/.
