Toledo Speedway

TOLEDO, OH: (12-9-08): Track management at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways have finalized their dates with the touring series of ARCA for the 2009 season. The ARCA RE/MAX Series will make 2 stops at Toledo again next year, while the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will visit both tracks for a race event in the upcoming season.

The spring race at Toledo Speedway will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 16/17.   The weekend begins with Toledo's Friday night race card May 15, featuring the Buckeye 305 Winged Sprint Cars, the ARCA Sportsman class and Factory Stocks.  It will also be Kid's Night, with all kids to age 14 admitted FREE with a paid adult.  Each child will also receive a FREE hot dog, chips and a drink!  Race time is 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Saturday's action will begin in the morning with practice and qualifying for the ARCA RE/MAX machines, with the day capped off with a 100 lap ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series contest on the big ½ mile paved oval.  The annual Fan Fest, complete with games, displays and race cars, will begin Saturday and run through Sunday's race.  The event is staged in the track parking lot.

Sunday, May 17 the green flag flies for the superspeedway-style stock cars of the RE/MAX tour for 200 laps of wheel to wheel, door to door racing.  Federated Car Care will serve as the presenting sponsor for the spring event.  The race is an afternoon contest, with the starting time to be announced.

Toledo's second RE/MAX date has been moved to Friday evening, September 4, which will kick off the Labor Day weekend.  The Glass City oval has hosted the Championship weekend for the series for the past 2 years, but that event will now move to Rockingham, NC Speedway.  The Friday night event is not new for the track and the tour, as the race has been held on this date in prior years.  The event will be a 1-day show, with practice and qualifying taking place in the late afternoon.  The race will be held under the lights at Toledo for the September 4 event.

Flat Rock Speedway will play host to the Lincoln Welders Truck Series Saturday evening, May 23.  The unique event will feature a 100 lap Truck race, the ARCA 4 Cylinders, a 250 lap Enduro race and a Fireworks show to cap off the Memorial Day weekend event at the ¼ mile paved oval.  The track will also host the first of two Kid's Nights, with all kids to age 14 FREE with a paid adult.  Each child will also receive a FREE hot dog, chips and a drink for the May 23 show.  Race time is 7 p.m.

Reserved seat tickets go on sale for the pair of RE/MAX shows March 1, as well as for several special events at both Flat Rock and Toledo for the 2009 season.  Those dates and shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
