Jesse Love looks to make history Saturday

Jesse Love has a chance to make history this weekend in Toledo.

The young Californian recently came to Toledo on September 16th, winning the 35th Running of the Hearn Industrial Glass City 200. Only one driver in Toledo Speedway’s history has ever won an ARCA Menards Series race at Toledo in addition to the Glass City 200 - Joy Fair, who won in ARCA competition in 1972, after taking the first Glass City 200 in 1968.

No driver has ever won both the Glass City 200 and an ARCA Menards Series race at Toledo in a single year. Love has a chance to break this record on Saturday.

Love clinched the ARCA Menards Series title in Salem last weekend just by starting his #20 Toyota, after a dominant season in which he has taken ten wins in 19 races.

He will be alongside two other Venturini Motorsports teammates - Sean Hingorani is presently entered in the #25 car, and Dylan “Mamba” Smith will be making his second ever start in the ARCA Menards Series - his first time with Venturini Motorsports.

Love will be fighting for multiple trophies on Saturday - the ARCA Menards Series owner’s title will go down to this final race, as the Venturini Motorsports #20 team looks to take the owner’s title over the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing team.

This is the second consecutive year the owners points title will go down to a battle between these two teams - in 2022, the owner's title would be decided with just two laps to go at Toledo Speedway. Sammy Smith in the Joe Gibbs Racing #18 Toyota would pass Love in the Venturini Motorsports #20 car to take both the win, and the owner's title, in the most dramatic of fashions.

For Love, this weekend could be both personal retribution from a dramatic finish in 2022, and a new height as a potential all-time record breaker at a historic race track.

The ARCA Menards Series crowns a champion on Saturday, October 7th with the Shore Lunch 200 at Toledo Speedway.
