SPRING 200 ENTRIES ARRIVING FOR TOLEDO’S APRIL 22 OPENER

Toledo, Ohio—April 12, 2017: The first group of entries have now been posted for Toledo Speedway’s 2017 Season Opener, the Spring 200, set for Saturday afternoon, April 22. The event will feature a pair of 100 lap contests for 2 different kinds of Late Models. The ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Model tour will make up one half of the event, while the ARCA Super 6 Gold Cup outlaw-bodied Late Model Series will hit the track for their 100 lap feature on the fast ½ mile paved oval.

Defending race winner Cody Coughlin leads the list of ARCA/CRA entries. Cody will have some very tough competition as 2-time Toledo race winner Brian Campbell, Toledo winner Johnny VanDoorn, ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards recent Nashville victor Chad Finley, former ARCA/CRA champ Travis Braden and Mooresville, NC driver Steve Wallace, son of NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace, are also entered for the 100 lap race.

The Toledo race takes on added significance for the race winner, which will receive a guaranteed starting spot in the race at Bristol, TN May 21, providing they also compete at Anderson, IN May 6.

The ARCA Super 6 Gold Cup Series early entries include a pair of accomplished Late Model drivers who will be teammates for the first time. Driving for Tony LeClair this year, Scott Hantz and Phil Bozell are both entered. Former Glass City 200 winner Dennis Strickland, Blount Motorsports driver Brandon Lyons, Toledo veterans Johnny Belott, Dave Stehouwer, Chris Benson and Scott Pemberton are also on the list, as well as Frankie Jiovani and first-time Toledo visitor Trent Hellenga.

Royal Truck and Trailer Sales, Moran Chevrolet, DTS Drive Train Specialists, Diamond Racing Products, Dani’s Transport and Tim Hortons/Guy Pritchard Investments of Windsor, Chatham and Kent, Ontario are the six businesses that have made the new concept, the ARCA Late Model “Super 6 Gold Cup” Series a reality, which will increase the purses for each of the 6 Gold Cup races by $2000 this season.

Fans can save $5 on an advance ticket for the season opener. The tickets must be purchased prior to 5 p.m. Friday, April 21. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. Children 6-12 are $3 and under 6 are admitted free of charge. In the event of weather issues, a rain date of Sunday, April 23 at 1 p.m. has been established.

An optional Friday, April 21 practice session is set for 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The grandstands will be open to race fans free of charge Friday. Saturday, April 22, the race day schedule has one-hour practice sessions for each class beginning at 10 a.m. Time trials are set for 1 p.m. followed by an on-track driver autograph session. Race time for the Spring 200 is 3 p.m.

To order tickets, fans may download the ticket order form from the track’s webpage at www.toledospeedway.com or call the track at 419-727-1100. Tickets may also be obtained at the track office on weekdays. Most major credits cards are accepted.
