ROAHRIGS, GANUS ENTER MILLER LITE 100 AT TOLEDO

Toledo, OH—August 15, 2016: The father-son duo of JR and Tyler Roahrig are now entered for the Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer Sales Friday night, August 19 at Toledo Speedway. 2015 ARCA Gold Cup champ Jeff Ganus is also now entered. The event was rained out last Saturday and carried the rain date of tomorrow night.

JR captured the 2014 Glass City 200 at the track and still holds the outlaw Late Model 1 lap record at 14:628. Tyler has had a tremendous season thus far in 2016. The youngster has captured wins at several different tracks this year and was the runner-up at last week’s Kalamazoo Klash.   Both will be making their first appearances of the season at the Glass City oval.

2-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Matt Crafton will not be able to return to Toledo for Friday’s event, but filling the seat of Bob Fox’s #56 will be 2015 ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup champion Jeff Ganus. The Constantine, MI driver is making a return to Late Model racing after being injured in a motorcycle accident early this summer.

The Miller Lite 100 is the 6th and final leg of the Royal Truck and Trailer Sales Gold Cup Series. The race is also a point event for the Main Event Late Model Series, as the 2 groups will once again work together for this event. Steve Needles is looking to lock down the Gold Cup title, while Bud Perry leads the Main Event point standings. Both drivers are entered for Friday night’s race.

Former racer Guy Pritchard has stepped forward in a big way by adding $2000 to the purse for Friday’s 100 lap contest. Pritchard competed several years ago in the #56 Late Model at both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. Guy has pledged his support by adding $400 to each of the top 5 finishing positions for the Miller Lite 100.

The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman R & M Recycling 50 lap “Silver Cup” race is also on the Friday night race card. This race will be the third and final race of the R & M Recycling “Silver Cup” Series for the division. Jim Froling leads both the track and Silver Cup point standings.

The speedway will also offer a $5 discount on admission to any fan that donates a new, unwrapped toy this Friday, August 19.

The Nickel Grab for kids 12 and under will take place prior to the races, with free mini-checkered flags for the youngsters!

Toledo’s Friday race program will also feature the “Presidential Grudge Race”, pitting 2 cars decked out in campaign slogans battling for top honors at Toledo. The cars are courtesy of the Monroe Superstore.

Friday, August 19 has the pit gates opening at 2 p.m., the front gates open at 4:30, practice begins at 4:30, time trials are at 6:30, the kids nickel grab is at 7:15 and race time is 7:30 p.m.

The current entry list for the Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer is posted in the next race box on Toledo’s home page.

Parking is free on the track grounds. The track is located on Benore Road at the I-75/Alexis Road exit behind the Meijer store.
