Toledo, OH—August 15, 2016: St. Joseph, MI driver Steve Needles looks to cement the championship for the Royal Truck and Trailer Sales ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series this Friday night, August 19 at Toledo Speedway. The Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer Sales was rained out August 13 and has been re-set for this Friday evening.

Needles has been one of the hottest drivers in the Midwest this season, winning the first 4 Gold Cup events on the schedule. Steve has a 145 point lead over Harold Fair Jr. and 165 point edge on Jimmie Ward Jr. going into Friday’s event. A total of 215 points are available Friday night.

The Miller Lite 100 is the 6th and final leg of the Royal Truck and Trailer Sales Gold Cup Series. The race is also a point event for the Main Event Late Model Series, as the 2 groups will once again work together for this event.

Former racer Guy Pritchard has stepped forward in a big way by adding $2000 to the purse for Friday’s 100 lap contest. Pritchard competed several years ago in the #56 Late Model at both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways. Guy has pledged his support by adding $400 to each of the top 5 finishing positions for the Miller Lite 100.

The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman R & M Recycling 50 lap “Silver Cup” race is also on the Friday night race card. This race will be the third and final race of the R & M Recycling “Silver Cup” Series for the division. Jim Froling leads both the track and Silver Cup point standings.

The speedway will also offer a $5 discount on admission to any fan that donates a new, unwrapped toy this Friday, August 19.

The Nickel Grab for kids 12 and under will take place prior to the races, with free mini-checkered flags for the youngsters!

Toledo’s Friday race program will also feature the “Presidential Grudge Race”, pitting 2 cars decked out in campaign slogans battling for top honors at Toledo. The cars are courtesy of the Monroe Superstore.
