NASCAR TRUCK CHAMP MATT CRAFTON RETURNS TO TOLEDO SATURDAY FOR MILLER LITE 100

Toledo, OH—August 8, 2016: 2-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Matt Crafton will return to Toledo Speedway in an outlaw Late Model this Saturday night, August 13 for the Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer Sales.

Crafton finished 3rd in the KBR 100 at Toledo on July 8, and will be busy this week at the wheel of the #56 machine owned by Bob Fox. The Tulare, CA resident will race at Kalamazoo, MI Speedway Wednesday night in the famed Kalamazoo Klash, and the 2013-2014 NASCAR Truck Series champion will make the trip to Toledo for the Saturday night special.

The Miller Lite 100 is the 6th and final leg of the Royal Truck and Trailer Sales Gold Cup Series. The race is also a point event for the Main Event Late Model Series, as the 2 groups will once again work together for this event. The current Gold Cup Series point leader is Steve Needles of St. Joseph, MI.

The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman R & M Recycling 50 lap “Silver Cup” race that was rained out July 29 has been rescheduled for this Saturday. The class was originally set for a weekly event as part of the Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer Sales. This race will be the third and final race of the R & M Recycling “Silver Cup” Series for the division. Jim Froling leads both the track and Silver Cup point standings.

The “Saturday Night Special” at Toledo will also include several promotions that were lost due to July 29 cancellation. The speedway will offer a $5 discount on admission to any fan that donates a new, unwrapped toy Saturday, August 13.

And Santa Claus has adjusted his schedule to be at Toledo Saturday for the Nickel Grab for kids 12 and under. Santa has mini-checkered flags for the kids, too!

The Toledo Better Business Bureau outing has also been rescheduled for the Saturday night, August 13 show.

Toledo’s Saturday race program will also feature the “Presidential Grudge Race”, pitting 2 cars decked out in campaign slogans battling for top honors at Toledo.

And in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Jeep, born and made in Toledo, a parade lap for the Jeeps will be held as part of the “Jeepfest” weekend of festivities that are being held in the city.

Saturday, August 13 has the pit gates opening at 2 p.m., the front gates open at 4, practice begins at 4, time trials are at 6 and race time is 7 p.m.

Parking is free on the track grounds. The track is located on Benore Road at the I-75/Alexis Road exit behind the Meijer store.
