WHELEN FIRST RESPONDER NIGHT JULY 29 AT TOLEDO;

Toledo, OH—July 18, 2016: Toledo Speedway’s Friday, July 29 show will pay tribute to the men and women of “First Responder” status, while the PNC Bank/Glass Bowl Lanes Autograph Night and Christmas In July with Santa promotions will also take place on the same evening.

The Whelen Engineering Company First Responder Night will honor the local members of the police, fire and rescue teams. These individuals may show their ID badge or proper credentials at the ticket windows July 29 and receive 2 complimentary tickets to the evening’s race card, courtesy of Whelen.

A state-of-the-art Whelen LED safety lighting system has recently been installed at both Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways. “We are very fortunate to have such a great relationship with Whelen through our ARCA Safety Initiative and we are very pleased to host the Whelen First Responder Night at Toledo July 29,” said Ron Drager, Owner and Promoter of both tracks.

Another Whelen First Responder Night is planned for Saturday, August 6 at Flat Rock Speedway.

On the same night, PNC Bank and the Glass Bowl Lanes, together with Toledo Speedway, will host a Toy Drive. Any fan that brings a new, unwrapped toy to the track on race night will receive a $5 discount on admission July 29.

Santa Claus will be at the track and hand out mini-checkered flags to kids 12 and under (while supplies last) and will preside over the Nickel Grab event! Several nickels will be marked and additional prizes will be given away!

It’s also Autograph Night! Fans will be permitted to walk onto the track and meet the drivers at approximately 7 p.m. The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman division, the go-kart style Great Lakes Mini Cup Cars and the ARCA Factory Stocks will all take part in the autograph session.

The track will also host the Great Toledo Better Business Bureau Night and an outing for the Harmon Sign Company.

The Late Model Sportsman will compete in the R & M Recycling 50 lap “Silver Cup” race, while the ARCA Factory Stocks will battle in the return of the Road Course race, which uses parts of the ¼ mile, ½ mile and pit road. The Mini Cup Cars will see action on the short oval.

The front gates open at 5, practice begins at 5, time trials are at 6:30, the on-track autograph session is at 7 and race time is 7:30 p.m.

ALL tickets go on sale at the track Friday at 5 p.m. Parking is free on the track grounds. The track is located on Benore Road at the I-75/Alexis Road exit behind the Meijer store.
