Toledo Speedway

(Toledo, OH—September 18, 2015):  Friday’s 2-hour practice session for the 27th Running of the Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway saw 31 of the 33 cars entered at the track for a quick tune-up for Saturday’s 200 lap classic for outlaw Late Models.

Dakota Carlson (14:982), Johnny Belott (15:130), Steve Needles (15:135), defending race winner JR Roahrig (15:149) and Terry Senneker Jr. (15:169) were the 5 fastest cars during the practice Friday evening.  Senneker Jr., who was on the board with the 3^rd quickest time going into the final ½ hour, backed his car hard into the turn 4 wall and sustained heavy damage.  The #37 team is unsure of their plans for Saturday at of the close of practice Friday night.

A last-chance race and B Main are also on the schedule for Saturday, should enough cars be entered for the 200.  A 20 minute break will take place at lap 101.  For the first time in many years, the 200 will be a stand-alone event.  The time schedule for race day has the pit gates opening at 9 a.m., practice begins at 11 a.m. and the run for the PASSTIME $500 pole award goes at 2.  An on-track autograph session is planned for 3:45 p.m., with pre-race festivities to begin at 4:30. Race time is 5 p.m. 

Presenting sponsors for the race include the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express and Central Transport. 1976 winner Ed Cooper will serve as Grand Marshal for the race.  The rain date for the race is the following day, Sunday, September 20 at 1 p.m.
