FROLING SCORES THRILLING TOLEDO WIN

FROLING SCORES THRILLING TOLEDO WIN

Toledo, Ohio-July 31, 2015:  Jim Froling, Greg Studt and Jeremy Vanderhoof captured feature wins on Qualite Sports Lighting Night Friday at Toledo Speedway. The track’s Autograph and Kid’s Night was also part of the festivities.  The speedway also hosted its annual City of Toledo Employee Appreciation Night.  City of Toledo Mayor Paul Hicks-Hudson was on hand and waved the first green flag of the race program.  Dennis Whisman was also victorious, notching the Flag Pole race.

A fabulous battle up front kept the fans excited as Jim Froling nipped Ron Allen by .064 seconds to win the 35 lap ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman feature.  Greg Stilwell led the first 3 laps, with Froling motoring into the lead on lap 4.  Mike Young took up the challenge and battled Jim for the next 24 circuits.  On lap 28, Young shot under Froling and entering turn 3, the duo touched, sending Froling around.  Young took responsibility, sending him to the tail.  Ron Allen had reeled in the lead pair and was really closing the gap before that first yellow at lap 28.  The re-start saw Allen up on the top lane and Froling in the low groove.  They ran door to door for the final 7 laps, with Froling just edging out Ron for the win.  Young was third, Stilwell fourth and Kenny McKay Jr. fifth, followed by Chad Stilwell, Andy Harding, Dan Grigsby, Craig Osenbaugh and Tommy O’Leary IV.  Froling posted quick time at 17:512.  Allen and Froling took heat race wins.

Greg Studt knocked down the “W” with his win in the 25 lap ARCA R & M Recycling X Car feature race.  Kyle Worley was second, Dennis Whisman third, Craig Osenbaugh fourth and Matt Ringger fifth.  Randy Padgett Jr., Tommy O’Leary IV, Rich Abel, Mike Miller, Dusty Brunt and Nolan Padgett were next in line at the stripe.  O’Leary IV and Nolan Padgett grabbed the heat wins.  O’Leary also posted the quick time at 11:576.

Jeremy Vanderhoof dodged the intersection traffic on his way to victory in the 20 lap ARCA Praxair Figure 8 feature.  Robbie Loving was second across the stripe, Dennis Whisman third, Randy Roberts fourth and Scott Apperson fifth, with Race Loving, Dennis Whisman Jr. and Archie Padgett next in the finishing order. Dennis Whisman was the heat race winner.

An 8 car Flag Pole race concluded the night as Dennis Whisman capped off his evening with the win over Matt Ringger, Dennis Whisman Jr., Archie Padgett, Scott Apperson, Randy Roberts, Race Loving and Mike Miller.
