Toledo, Ohio—April 6, 2015: Defending champion Dakota Carlson will be at the wheel of a brand new car for this Saturday’s ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup Late Model Series 2015 opener at Toledo Speedway.  The 100 lap contest is part of the season-opening 7-Up Twin 100s Saturday afternoon, April 11 at the ½ mile, high-banked paved oval.  The ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models will team with the ARCA Midwest Tour Late Models for the other portion of the event, also a 100 lap contest.  Race time is 3 p.m.

Several more entries have arrived over the Easter weekend, and the list is filled to make up a strong field for Saturday’s opener.  2012 Glass City 200 champ Terry Senneker, 2008 and 2010 Glass City king Harold Fair Jr., the always-quick Brent Jack, Ohioan Alex Rosenberry and local drivers Mike Young and rookie Guy Fire are also entered, along with veteran Dave Stehouwer.

Tickets are now on sale and fans can save $5 per ticket if purchased before 5 p.m. Friday, April 10.  To purchase tickets, call 419-727-1100.  Most major credit cards are accepted for phone orders.  Fans may also stop in the Toledo office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An open practice session is scheduled for Friday, April 10 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The grandstands will be open to the public and there is no admission charge Friday.  Dinner will be served to all Friday pit pass purchasers at the Speedway Bar/Grille at 7:30 p.m. 

Saturday’s schedule begins with practice at 10 a.m., with a 1 hour session slated for both groups.  Time trials begin at 1 p.m., an on-track autograph session will take place after qualifying and racing begins at 3 p.m. for the 7-Up Twin 100’s.  A rain date of Sunday, April 12 as been established.

The race will also be available on a pay-per-view basis through Speed51.com.  Go to the Speed51 website for the details.  The race will also be taped by the Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN) for its Sunday Night at the Races program, shown in the local Toledo area.
