CAMPBELL TAKES FIRST LAPS OF SEASON AT TOLEDO; FLAT ROCK CHAMP CRONENWETT, TOLEDO WINNER BAILEY,  FATHER-SON HAWES TEAM ENTER FOR APRIL 11 OPENER

Toledo, Ohio—March 31, 2015:  Veteran Brian Campbell took advantage of sunny skies and warming temperatures Monday afternoon at Toledo Speedway, piloting his ARCA/CRA Super Series machine in preparation for the season-opening 7-Up Twin 100s Saturday afternoon, April 11. The CRA cars and ARCA Midwest Tour stock-bodied Late Models will battle in a 100 lap contest, while the other 100 lap race will be contested by the outlaw-bodied ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup Late Model Series.  Race time is 3 p.m.

Several more entries have also arrived for the Gold Cup Series list, as reigning Flat Rock Speedway champ Steve Cronenwett Jr. and 2014 Toledo race winner Nick Bailey are now entered, along with the father and son team of Joe and Steve Hawes.  Joe is a former Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway champion.  They join Scott Pemberton, Frankie Jiovani and 2013 Toledo Glass City 200 winner Dennis Strickland as early entries for the opening event for the 6-race series for 2015.

Campbell has been the first driver to take laps at Toledo for several seasons.  Brian won the season opener in 2012 and 2014 at Toledo for the ARCA/CRA cars and also won the 2007 Glass City 200.

Tickets are now on sale and fans can save $5 per ticket if purchased before 5 p.m. Friday, April 10.  To purchase tickets, call 419-727-1100.  Most major credit cards are accepted for phone orders.  Fans may also stop in the Toledo office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An open practice session is scheduled for Friday, April 10 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The grandstands will be open to the public and there is no admission charge Friday.  Dinner will be served to all Friday pit pass purchasers at the Speedway Bar/Grille at 7:30 p.m. 

Saturday’s schedule begins with practice at 10 a.m., with a 1 hour session slated for both groups.  Time trials begin at 1 p.m., an on-track autograph session will take place after qualifying and racing begins at 3 p.m. for the 7-Up Twin 100’s.  A rain date of Sunday, April 12 as been established.

The race will also be available on a pay-per-view basis through Speed51.com.  Go to the Speed51 website for the details.  The race will also be taped by the Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN) for its Sunday Night at the Races program, shown in the local Toledo area.
