FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY BULLETIN (2-24-15)

This is our fourth winter bulletin of the season.  We will post one for each month through March.  The winter office for both tracks is at Toledo:  419-727-1100.

DATE CHANGE:  The date for the annual Racer’s Reunion and Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club meeting has been changed to Saturday, March 21 at the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille.  The Reunion will run from Noon to 6, and the MARFC meeting follows at 6.  Admission is free all day!  Everyone is welcome.  There is always thousands of photos, memorabilia and good bench racing!  Make your plans to spend this day with us!

Sponsors:  All track division sponsors have now renewed for 2015!   Moran Chevrolet (Flat Rock Late Models), Ararmark Uniform Services (Late Model Sportsman), DTS Drive Train Specialists (Street Stocks), R & M Recycling (X Car class sponsor) and  Praxair (Figure 8’s) are set!  And Royal Truck and Trailer will become the sponsor for the Late Model Gold Cup Series.  Please be sure to say thank you to these folks and support their businesses!

Pad rentals:  If paid before March 1, you will receive a free pit pass for the practice day and save money at the same time!  Prices go up after March 1 and again after April 1.  The pad forms are located under forms on the web pages of each track.

Stahl Performance Fab will be giving away a chassis to the “Hard Charger” for the Street Stocks at Flat Rock.  A point system will be in place, awarding 1 point for each position improved in the A Main.  Complete details will be available at the practice day.  The story ran on the website January 30.

Race Night sponsors:  We’re working on these as we get closer to the openers.  We will go over them in their entirety in the March bulletin.

Pre-Season outings:  March 13-14 the tracks will have a booth at the Bedford, MI Trade Fair and on the same weekend there is a car show at the Bowling Green, OH mall (Charlie Orns will be there).  Saturday-Sunday, March 21-22 is the date for the Motor City Hot Rod and Racing Expo in Novi, MI.  The track will once again have a booth for this event. The March 21-22 weekend will be very busy, as we also have the Racer’s Reunion/MARFC Fan Club meeting on Saturday.  We will also be at the annual Super Fitness location on Alexis Road March 22 for their Member Appreciation event.

Car numbers:  Any changes of car numbers—be sure to call us at the office.  The program print deadline is Friday, March 6.  We will be including the driver’s lists, so if you have not called us with any changes…….do so!  We will start a new car number list for the Factory Stocks.  Please remember the Enduro races have an entry fee and a separate car number list…we will do our best to work with everyone.

The 2015 membership forms are now up on the web pages and can be found under forms.  There is no increase in membership fees.

BCSN TV:  The Buckeye Cable Sports Network will once again televise numerous races at both tracks in 2015.  The dates at this time are:  Toledo:  April 11, May 1, May 16, June 12, June 26, July 10 and August 14.  Flat Rock:  April 25, May 9, June 6, July 25.    It is possible more dates may be added. Recently-retired driver Rich Frantz will join the BCSN team as a color commentator for these events.

Enduro/Factory Stocks:  For the first time ever, a 250 lap Enduro race will be contested at Toledo—Friday, June 19.  There will be 4 Enduros at Flat Rock and the 1 at Toledo.  A total of four (4) separate Factory Stock races will be held at Toledo during the season, with a point system in place for the 4 events.  And, these cars may also run with the X Cars (these 2 classes are not scheduled on the same night), giving this group an option to run plenty of nights if desired. The Enduro race entry form is on the web pages under forms

Late Models:  The minimum age for Late Model drivers has been moved to 15 years of age.  All other divisions are minimum age of 14.  **Any candidate will need to provide a racing resume, meet with track officials and do a private test session.  For details, call 419-727-1100.

Schedules:  Toledo will open Saturday, April 11 with the 7-Up Twin 100’s—ARCA/CRA Late Models and (new for 2015) the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup Late Models.  The Friday night weekly racing opener is May 8, with practice set for Tuesday night, May 5.  Flat Rock opens with a practice Saturday, April 18 and the first race Saturday, April 25.

Flat Rock:  We have made the decision to NOT race on Saturday, July 4.  We will, however, race FRIDAY, July 3--Figure 8’s, Street Stocks, MCR Dwarf Cars and the Enduro 250.  These will be point races.  Toledo will be dark and has no racing scheduled for July 3.

Ticket fundraiser program:  Both tracks have in place a pre-sale ticket fundraiser program for non-profit groups, charities, school groups, etc.  It’s very simple!  If you have a group that might be interested, give us a call at 419-727-1100.

Save some time and $$ by getting your pad rentals in before March 1.  Get your membership forms taken care of and plan to be at the practice days!  You can get through tech, take a few laps and be ready for the opener!  As always, we will not wait on opening night for you to get

through tech….
