FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY BULLETIN (12-19-14)

FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY BULLETIN (12-19-14)

This is our second winter bulletin of the season.  We will post one for each month through March.  The winter office for both tracks is at Toledo:  419-727-1100.

Schedules:  We will post the new schedules for both tracks on the web pages Monday afternoon, December 22.

Christmas presents!  You still have time to order gift cards, race tickets and more!  The form can be found under forms on the web pages or you can call us!   If you would like to purchase a raceceiver or concrete pad rental for a gift, call us and we can do that, too!

W-9 forms:  Most of you have filled these out for tax purposes. Please send them in if you have not done so.

Enduro/Factory Stock rules:  After several conversations, we have made a few additional changes in the 2015 Enduro-Factory Stock class.  The revised rules are now posted on both track’s webpages under forms.  Here’s a highlight of the recent revisions:  Left side weight is maximum 55%; all cars will be required to have a fuel cell; working muffler required.  All Enduro race will be 250 laps.  *We will mail out the recently-revised rules and the new entry blank the first week of January.

Enduro/Factory Stocks:  For the first time ever, a 250 lap Enduro race will be contested at Toledo—Friday, June 19.  There will be 4 Enduros at Flat Rock and the 1 at Toledo.  A total of four (4) separate Factory Stock races will be held at Toledo during the season, with a point system in place for the 4 events.  And, these cars may also run with the X Cars (these 2 classes are not scheduled on the same night), giving this group an option to run plenty of nights if desired.

The 2015 membership forms are now up on the web pages and can be found under forms.  There is no increase in membership fees.

Late Models:  The minimum age for Late Model drivers has been moved to 15 years of age.  All other divisions are minimum age of 14.  **Any candidate will need to provide a racing resume, meet with track officials and do a private test session.  For details, call 419-727-1100.

New name!  The ARCA Sportsman class has undergone a title change—the division will now be known at the Late Model Sportsman.

Sponsors:  At the banquet, Moran Chevrolet (Flat Rock Late Models), Ararmark Uniform Services (Late Model Sportsman) and DTS Drive Train Specialists (Street Stocks) all announced their return for 2015.  R & M Recycling will return as the X Car class sponsor!  Please be sure to say thank you to these folks and support their businesses!  We are working on finalizing other sponsorship programs at this time.

Schedules:  Toledo will open Saturday, April 11 with the 7-Up Twin 100’s—ARCA/CRA Late Models and (new for 2015) the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models.  The Friday night weekly racing opener is May 8, with practice set for Tuesday night, May 5.  Flat Rock opens with a practice Saturday, April 18 and the first race

Saturday, April 25.

Flat Rock:  We have made the decision to NOT race on Saturday, July 4.  We will, however, race FRIDAY, July 3--Figure 8’s, Street Stocks, MCR Dwarf Cars and the Enduro 250.  These will be point races.  Toledo will be dark and has no racing scheduled for July 3.

Toledo special event dates:  Friday, May 1-USAC Silver Crown Series; Sunday, May 17-ARS 200; May 29-Night of Destruction; June 12-Fastest Short Track Show in the World; June 26-King of the Wing Sprint Car Shootout; July 10-ARCA Gold Cup Late Model 100; Aug. 14-Miller Lite 100, ARCA Gold Cup/Main Event Late Models; Aug. 28-Night of Destruction; Sat.
