A popular trend among social networking sites is Throwback Thursday, reminding us of some popular memory from the past. In recognition of Throwback Thursday, ToledoSpeedway.com will feature a “Blast From The Past” each week.

Joy Fair drove the school bus yellow #1 ARCA Late Model to hundreds of feature wins throughout the Midwest in the 60s and 70s. His car owners were Dearborn Crankshaft (later Moldex Crank) proprietor William “Gilly” Gillelan and Russell Wainscott, and the trio was nearly unbeatable throughout those decades. They won seven Toledo Speedway ARCA Late Model championships in 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1974. Fair is the all-time Toledo Speedway leader in Late Model feature wins with 97, followed by Bob Senneker 33, Danny Byrd and John Anderson 31, Chuck Roumell 24, Tracy Leslie 23, Dave Kuhlman 22, Junior Hanley 20, Harold Fair Jr. 18 and Joe Ruttman 17 (the all time feature winners and all-time track champions are listed by clicking on the ToledoSpeedway.com “Track Info” button.
